Chilli Chocolate Mousse

This Chilli Chocolate Mousse from Aldi is guaranteed to add a delightful sprinkle of zest and spice to dessert time.

Ingredients

  • 225 ml double cream
  • 3 free-range egg whites
  • 75 g caster sugar
  • 225 g dark chocolate 70%
  • 1 tsp chilli powder

To serve

  • dark chocolate grated
  • chilli flakes
  • chilli powder
  • a pinch of salt  

Instructions

  1. Whip the cream until thickened into soft peaks. Whip the egg whites into soft peaks then gradually add sugar and whisk again until stiff peaks form.

  2. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 20-second blasts until fully melted and smooth, then stir through the chilli powder.

  3. Fold the whipped cream through the egg whites.

  4. Finally, fold the melted chocolate through the mixture and divide between 6 small glasses or bowls.

  5. Leave in the fridge for 1-2 hours until set, then top with grated chocolate and a pinch of chilli powder and chilli flakes.
