By putting, nutritious, locally sourced food at the heart of cooking, Ceri wants us to eat seasonally and cook simple meals from scratch that are healthy and full of flavour.

In time for the New Year when traditionally many of us look to reboot our eating habits, Ceri has launched an innovative and easy to navigate APP as an extension of Natural Kitchen Adventures which guides you through the seasons with 50 gorgeous recipes that nourish body and mind. “I love food and I’ve always been passionate about cooking with the best that each season has to offer” says Ceri, “there is no better way to feel and look great than getting in tune with Mother Nature and cooking seasonally. I wanted to create a tool that allows everyone to cook as I cook so I created my APP to empower people to eat and live well.”

She adds: “I cook with seasonal whole foods, choosing organic and local foods where possible. My emphasis is on eating healthy to make you feel good.”

Recipe highlights for the winter season include Massaged Cavolo Nero & Root Vegetable Salad with Feta & Pomegranates and Poached Pears with Salted Caramel Sauce.

 About Ceri

Based in London, Ceri is a natural chef, food writer and healthy cooking instructor who trained at the Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts in Berkeley, California. Her passion is for creating great food in tune with nature and her tips and tricks make cooking seasonally a cinch.

“I started Natural Kitchen Adventures in 2011 with the simple aim of sharing my healthy recipes with the wider world, and that continues to be my aim to this day.  Here you will find all manner of recipes; from those I have taught at cooking classes to others I have used in my catering work,” says Ceri. She adds: “Most of my recipes are inspired by a single ingredient, and after shopping for said ingredient at one of London’s fabulous markets I usually have my head in the flavour bible, seeking out novel cooking ideas and further inspiration.” And you don’t even need to worry about fads.

Everything in Moderation

Ceri’s recipes include a bit of everything, although there are plenty of gluten or dairy-free alternatives for anyone who needs help cooking with intolerances or allergies.

“I don’t think I have a particular food philosophy other than one of moderation. I eat well sourced meat and fish – but much less than I used to. I eat as many vegetables as I can, less sugar, less dairy and low amounts of gluten because after years of experimenting I’ve found that works for me. My low fat years were miserable, my low carb years even more so. Nutrition is a big part of what I do, but I don’t get bogged down with the science because it still feels overwhelming.  I just have one wish – to feel the best that I can!”
