Asda is recalling its ‘Syrup Sponge Puddings’ because the ingredients list does not mention milk correctly as an allergen, and is a possible risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk.

The desert, which comes as a two-pack, have skimmed milk powder listed in their ingredients. but the supermarket is recalling them because the packs, sold before June and with best before dates between March 16-31, 2017, do not have the ingredient written in bold.
Asda said: “If you have purchased some of the Asda 2 Syrup Sponge Puddings please be aware that this product is not suitable for anyone with a milk allergy. “You may return the packs to your nearest store for a full refund.”
The Food Standards Agency stated that: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it. Instead return it to the nearest Asda store for a full refund or call Asda customer relations on 0800 952 0101.”
